Describe your role at Content Matterz:
My role is to oversee and provide direction to the content department, which means working closely with our talented team of strategists and specialists to ensure they, and our clients, are set up for success. I also collaborate with the Content Matterz leadership team on high-level strategy for the company as a whole.
Give us some background; why are you here, now:
I've been working in marketing for 20 years! Wow, that's a long time. Over the years I’ve worked with all kinds of companies and all sizes of teams on everything from website development to branding to event planning, but my strongest projects always involved writing and creating content.
I've known Cara since nearly the beginning of my career and had the privilege of working for her at Content Matterz as a contractor for a number of years before I officially took a full-time job in the Fall of 2021. I knew it would be a good fit for me and I'm so happy I jumped at the chance to join this team. I am so excited to see all the amazing things we can do together. The sky really is the limit!
What’s a fun fact that makes you, you?
Most people would describe me as an extrovert, and it’s true that I will talk to anyone, anywhere, but I absolutely love living in the middle of the forest and having a lot of space to myself. Trees are great listeners.
What do you enjoy doing outside of your 9-to-5?
When I'm feeling active you can find me either on a mountain (hiking or snowboarding), on an epically well-planned road trip in our camper or ubering my three sons to every sports complex in the state.
My happy place is my front porch rocking chair with coffee, a good book, my husband strumming his guitar and the sound of three little boys laughing in the yard.
What/who inspires your life?
Enthusiastic people, live music, books, and deep thinkers with big hearts.
What motivates you to do what you do here, and how do you contribute to the client experience
I love being creative and marketing is a thing that you can't do well if you aren't constantly creating. It's fast paced and fun, but unlike some other creative pursuits, it requires a really strong level of strategic thinking to be successful. It's combining the creative side of "how do we make this thing look, sound, and feel amazing?" with the strategic side of "how do we make this thing achieve a specific goal for the client?" that makes each project exciting.
